The War on Drugs does not address the underlying causes of drug use or drug crime in theUnited States. Implementation of Drug War policies have led to racially disparate arrest and incarceration trends in California and nationwide.

Over the past decade, CJCJ has documented an over 40-year history of racially disparate arrest practices in San Francisco. CJCJ has disseminated this information to both local and state policymakers, practitioners, and criminal justice stakeholders, calling for an investigation into these trends.
