New Fact Sheet: Fresno County Shows Favorable Crime Trends in the Justice Reform Era (2010-2017)

SAN FRANCISCO – October 4, 2018 – A new fact sheet from the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice finds that, amid substantial statewide criminal justice reform, Fresno County and the City of Fresno have experienced generally positive crime trends. California’s justice reform era (2010-2017) includes Public Safety Realignment, Proposition 47, and Proposition 57, which were adopted in response to systemic overcrowding of the state’s prison system. The fact sheet analyzes recently released 2017 crime statistics to crime data for the previous seven years.
