The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention established the National Juvenile Defender Training, Technical Assistance and Resource Center to give juvenile defense attorneys a more permanent capacity to address practice issues, improve advocacy skills, build partnerships, exchange information, and participate in the national debate over juvenile crime.

The Pacific Juvenile Defender Center is a regional affiliate of the National Center. PJDC is sponsored by the American Bar Association Juvenile Justice Center, the Youth Law Center, and the Juvenile Law Center.

PJDC is a collaborative effort of the San Francisco Public Defender's Office, Legal Services for Children, and the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice.
