A California Juvenile Court Advocate's Guide to Noninstitutional Placement

This guide is designed to assist juvenile court advocates in locating and accessing residential placement alternatives for youths in the juvenile justice system. The information contained in this guide is the result of over 15 years of effort by CJCJ staff and consultants in identifying incarceration·alternatives for California youth. The programs listed are recognized for their ability to address the special needs of youths with long histories of juvenile justice system involvement. Through this guide it is hoped that fewer youths will be consigned to correctional institution placement.
