The Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice (CJCJ) is a community-based nonprofit whose mission is to reduce society’s reliance on the use of incarceration as a solution to social problems. CJCJ does this through the provision of direct services, public education, and technical assistance to best support youth, adults, and families. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Accounts payable: process bills and staff reimbursements weekly
  • Accounts receivable: develop invoices and manage fiscal spreadsheets monthly
  • Payroll: reconcile manual timesheets and manage vacation/​sick accruals
  • Bank deposits: conduct and process in-person agency bank deposits
  • Agency audits: assist with various agency audits
  • Human resources: perform various HR tasks to include processing garnishments, employment verifications, staff benefits, maintaining personnel records, compliance with agency personnel policies, and conducting background checks
  • Information technology: build, enhance and maintain the agency’s IT infrastructure
  • Admin: support with various administrative and operational duties as and when needed

Qualifications for this position include:

  • 2+ years of experience in finances, i.e. accounts receivable, accounts payable, timesheets
  • Proficient in QuickBooks online and spreadsheets, and is extremely eager to learn
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, precision, and accuracy with numbers
  • Ability to work under pressure and with others, and work independently with an unparalleled work ethic
  • Technologically savvy, computer literate, and creative
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent ability to multitask, versed in writing professional emails, and excel in meeting deadlines
  • Strong integrity regarding maintaining confidentiality
  • Dependable, dedicated, and an energetic attitude with an awesome sense of humor

We offer a casual work environment and a great team of committed professionals. This is an hourly non-exempt position with the opportunity for free on-the-job training. This position will entail a hybrid work environment: the position requires the staff be in-person in the office 1 – 2 days/​week with the benefit of working remotely for the remainder of the workweek. The workweek will vary from 3040 hours per week as needed.

Compensation and hourly benefits

This is an hourly position and the pay range is $25 — $27.75 per hour, depending on experience.
